The Micro Aimpoint adapter fits snugly into the top with no play it's actually more secure than with a metal handle. And I mounted a Sig Romeo 5 on top of it with a KZ Carry Handle Mount. I'm guessing if it has a name attached to it like Colt is brings a higher price.I reviewed this before, but now I have some actual trigger time behind it. It seems the ones with the square forge mark are running 79-129. They are the same make and price as Midwest Industries and a few other places I see them at too. I have good experience with the Aero Precision offering. It was not available when I researched this in the past. Two of them show a square forge mark and nothing else. The Brownells website lists one Colt Detachable Carry Handle. I have not seen anything other than a single forge mark. The detachable carry handle Brownells is listed as Colt and shows a raised "C" along side a BAFE forge mark. So even if you or someone else happens to have a C marked detachable carry handle, the object of the conversation, that still doesn't make it reliable indicator, because they would be the exception, not the norm. None have anything besides the square forge mark. I have purchased three brand new Colt rifles that came standard with detachable carry handles, 6920, 6721, and 6940. On carry handle (A2) style uppers, or detachable carry handles? I have never seen anything other than a forge mark on detachable carry handles. I buy parts with this thought foremost in my mind. I consider firearms as last ditch tools that need to work in an emergency because my life and the life of other people may depend upon it.

A friend of mine buys the cheapest crap he can find and feeds it steel case ammo. I have pride in ownership when I buy quality goods made in America or Sweden or Germany. Some people are perfectly happy with "made in China" parts on their personal weapons, I am not.
What I ended up with was junk which had to be replaced with the real deal, thereby costing me much more than buying new name brand equipment to begin with. I have never saved money buying on the cheap. I have seen some that look like they came back from the sand box. Most genuine Colt carry handles start around $100.00 on the used market. They're very very lightweight, very well made, and appear to be bomb proof. I've really started to take a liking to the DD A1.5 sights. I should've just lit the money on fire, they're totally worthless. I bought a couple A2 screw on sight blocks on ebay not to long ago. The chinese have really started to get a foothold in the AR market with cheap knockoff stuff. There is a lot of Chinese knockoff stuff on there, and maybe even some with "colt markings".
